In my network, I have both MAC and PC Looking for a color mfn printer (preferably Laser) that will work with either Mac Air or Dell Tower PC
cant stand HP products....any one have experience with Canon or Brother color mfn laser printers and scanning and printing using Mac?
MacBook Air (13-INCH, MID 2011), iOS 6.0.1, have both PC's & MacAir in network
The MF8350Cdn is not an AirPrint printer, so if you want to use it to print directly from an iOS device it will not work. Workarounds are possible but involve varying degrees of inconvenience, expense, or both.
If you want to use AirPrint you should constrain your search to the devices in this list.
I have had excellent success with Brother printers. Their OS X support is unmatched. If you are partial to Canon printers they would be my second choice.
HP would not be my last choice but it's close.
I've been using using the MF8350cdn with both my PC and Macs for over 2 years. . I just recently setup my new MacBook Pro (Snow Leopard) and it took about only 30 minutes to get it printing and scanning wirelessly! Just download the drivers from Canon's website and everything else is self explanatory. I prefer to only buy Canon printers since I've had such great experiences with them in the past.
My only negative is that I haven't been able to get the printer to print in ONLY black on the Macs - it prints everything in color & this can get VERY expensive.
As far as using this printer with an iPad? I'm looking into that right now......
