Just ordered a 27" iMac today and all the ship time says is January

Anyone order a custom imac 27? What is the wait time. Usually apple products are a bit more specfic than just a month like 1 week or 3 weeks....

@pizzafaice i'm in the exact same boat as you. I placed my order on the 26th hoping, futilely, that apple would be able to get my order out by the 10th. I realize that more than likely won't happen. I'm using apo box and they estimate 1-2 weeks shipping time from when they recieve my package so I probably won't have it until the second (maybe first if i'm lucky) week of February.

The marketing bumf and availability of iMacs this time round doesnt match up.

The web sites arnt telling of lack of availability to the public. My local high street stores have giant posters stating buy the newfaster iMac, but the stores dont have any of the new machines in stock and dont know when they will get any. In fact the sales staff think they have the new machines but dont know the difference.

Sit back and be very patient folks.

i used them during my last deployment, i cannot remember if it took a long time to recieve my package from them or not, but they did ship them off the same day they recieved them. as i said before they estimated a 1-2 week delivery time and i know i've had family ship me packages via priority mail and it's gotten to me in about 10-12 days (and we get mail once or twice a week)

I cancelled my original order when I found out I could get 32gigs of ram for the same price as 16 via 3rd party so I reordered mine with only 8gigs of ram on the 4th. This is the first time I purchased online where they don't break it down by weeks. From what i've been reading 4-6 weeks

this is normal...i recommend checking http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1510489&page=37 along with a spreadsheet you'll find linked in there. i'm not sure if anyone has recieved a shipping estimate. it seems as if it just goes from preparing to ship "january" to the "your order has shipped" email. just a heads up, if production continues at this rate or picks up you could have a message within a week (roughly). according to the spreadsheet there are orders as late as the 12th being shipped (albeit it rare, and the 7-9th seems to be most common). now to be fair there are orders on the 30th that still have yet to be fulfilled. i have quite a ways to go as i ordered on the 26th

My status just changed from "Processing" to "Preparing for shipping" and I was also charged for my order today so I'm sure yours will update soon!

I ordered my 27" the day the ordering system came on line. I've had it about three weeks now and can say I am 100% happy in my purchase. I believe you will find it worth the wait.
