Dec 24, 2013 4:47 AM in response to lizzie13666by JohnY52,I had same problem. Just did what Geezer Steve did and cured the problem, haven't got round to exchanging Charger yet but will when I next go to local Apple store. I'm ex BT, like he says Keep It Simple. Test what you can 1st to eliminate possibilities. Hope this works for you.

Mar 24, 2014 10:35 AM in response to lizzie13666by Jp Parsons555,Hey IPhone dinging friends...
I think I found the magic answer...
Up in the top left corner- underneath
The charger battery icon- a lovely little
Box with arrow popped up.
I am not sure how I got it to pop up.
I had muted the sound- still faint dings..
I did what the friend suggested- lock- never....
Then I noticed the glorious little
Box with arrow pointing up toward
The battery...
Click it... See the answer...

Nov 16, 2014 9:12 AM in response to Condor301by ashtreex,This is the answer. I got the bleeping when I swapped a quite heavy Belkin cable with an adapter for a smart new Lightening cable - by iWantit. Well I don't want the bleeping that resulted! Back to the old cable and see if I can exchange the iDon'tWantIt one for an Apple one. Mind you, the Apple ones get such poor reviews ...

Try Moshi brand lightening cable same price. I bought at the University book store and came with a life time guarantee .

Nov 28, 2014 11:35 AM in response to BobM54by almostnever,I had the same problem. But it didn't happen consistently. I have three charging stations each with the Apple charging cords. I switched the cords and it stopped the beeping. I decided to test the cord that made the iPhone beep and plugged it into my iPad. It made the iPad beep. The problem is not the phone...it's the cord used to charge the devices.

Jun 3, 2015 12:13 PM in response to lizzie13666by Jim the ETL guy,As many have noted, the iPhone is sensitive to the current coming out of the USB port. On many computers, the ports on the front of the computer don't have a lot of current. Try plugging into one of the USB ports on the back of the computer instead, these have more current for some reason.

Sep 21, 2015 3:59 PM in response to geezer steveby Ldavidx,Geezer Steve, You are a genius! After many frustrating hours trying to sync my iPhone 6 to my Surface Pro, I finally read your post. All it took was to change the charging cord and voila my sync was initiated. Thank you for stating the obvious!!!

Oct 26, 2015 8:27 PM in response to lizzie13666by AKBadBoy,IF YOU ARE GETTING THE ANNOYING "PING, PING" SOUND WHEN TRYING TO CHARGE YOU iPHONE, PLEASE TAKE NOTE: If your phone is giving you that annoying "ping, ping" when you're charging it, and you are using the two part charging cord, then that's your answer. My iPhone was driving me up the wall with all of the pinging, and when I looked at the battery icon and it was bouncing back and forth from "charging" to not charging. I changed charging cords and it was fine. Many chargers come in two parts, the first being the cord with a USB port on one end and on the other, the charging end that goes into the iPhone (this allows one to charge their phone with power from a computer's USB port). The second part has a regular two prong plug, allowing one to plug it into regular household current on one end, and on the other there is a female USB receptacle. This second part is the one that failed on me. I changed chargers and when I plugged the phone in, it only "pinged" once as is normal. I presume that the failure could occur to either part, leading to the same result, that incessant pinging noise AND the failure of your phone to charge. But hey, at least we have the answer.... finally.
