HP OFFICEJET 6700 PREMIUM NOT COMPATIBLE WITH MACBOOK PRO

I just got a hp officejet 6700 premium printer to go with my new mackbook pro and it says that it isn't compatible and that I need an older opperating system. is there any way to make it work??

I'm not familiar with macs at all.

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2), hp office jet 6700 premium

Where does what say it isn't compatible? The printer cd, box, docs? Or something on your computer?

According to this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669 your printer is supported.


Try connecting the printer with a cable, forget about any CD that comes with the printer, and opening the Print & Scan pane in  > System Preferences. Click 'Add Printer' and see if your printer is shown.


If not, run software update and try again.
