Slow booting

Hi,

I own an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2012) with a Fusiondrive. OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2) was preinstalled.

The boot process takes up to 35 to 45 seconds. I've tried yesterday different things to accelerate the boot process.

I've a Samsung DVD Writer SE-208AB attached to an external USB-Hub. When I now disconnect the DVD Writer from the USB-Hub, the boot process becomes normal.

Any ideas?

Contact Apple's Express Lane. It's a new machine and let them deal with it.

I''ve made further investigations and i now upgraded the firmware of the the Samsung DVD-Writer to version FW03.

Now, my iMac boots up normally.
