Hi Muriel
A few things I can try and help you with:
This forum is for Snow Leopard Server. Does your question relate to it in any way?
Snow Leopard (server and client) was the last OS you could install using dedicated installer media (ie: a DVD).
It was never a download.
If your hardware did come with Snow Leopard (10.6) pre-installed and you upgraded to firstly Lion (10.7) and then Mountain Lion (10.8) then it's a simple matter of inserting the DVD (gray disk) that came with your iMac and reinstall the OS.
Make sure you back up everything first.
The other possibility is you're confused and you never had Snow Leopard (10.6) in the first place and what you thought was Snow Leopard was actually Lion (10.7). If that's the case you have to call Apple and they should issue you a code (for a small fee possibly?) allowing you to re-download it from the App Store again.
Prior to upgrading to Mountain Lion (10.8) did you perform a complete backup (as Apple advise) of your whole system first? If you did, simply revert back making sure you've backed up any important new data you've added since the upgrade to 10.8.
If the above is not possible have you tried looking for the 10.8 compatible versions of the mentioned software? According to the developers they are compatble with 10.8:
