Hi, I'm reluctant to upgrade as I have no problems with my iPad and iTunes and everyone talks to each other perfectly....will the upgrade retain all my settings, etc.? Has anyone experienced any difficulties upgrading?

Can't speak for a windows machine, but I had no issues whatsoever upgrading on my MBP.
I have itunes 11 on windows 8 and it's working just fine.
Same here. iTunes updated to 11 on Windows 8. No issues. Ipad 1, iPad 2, iPad Mini, iPhone 5 and even the old iPod Touch work fine.
