    You use iTunes on your laptop to store your music, books and documents. Photos are stored separately.

     

    Then, while running iTunes on your laptop you connect your iPad to the laptop using the USB connector that came with the iPad. Select your iPad in iTunes and select which items you want to copy from your laptop to your iPad.
