I have woken up this morning to find the same problem happening with my 4S. Nothing has changed to the phone since yesterday, when it was working fine.

After looking around the web, it seems this problem has been around for a while, with no solutions. Its a bit disappointing that Apple shoudl by now know it is occuring and has offered no solution.

Please anyone help if you have found a solution.

First I've heard of it. What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? Try this troubleshooting assistant, click on the link for frozen or unresponsive phone to see the troubleshooting steps for restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new.

Apple does not participate in these forums. If you want to provide feedback to Apple, go to www.apple.com/feedback and click on the appropriate link.

    Thanks Chris

Ive tried almost everything - Ive tried changing all the settings, turned off and on imatch, deleted all music on the phone and reloaded, restarted, hard reset, and restore from backup (from yeasterday when I know it was working). the only thing I havent done is restore as new, which Im reluctant to do, so Im hoping there is an answer before I have to resort to that. I wish I could just remove the musci player app and reinstall it, but that doesnt seem to be an option???

the funny thing is that SOME songs play fine, so Ive managed to find one playlist that plays with no problems, but all the others result in the skipping problem.

You say you are using iTunes Match. Are these songs downloaded to your device, or are you streaming? If you are streaming, do you have a good connection, either wifi or strong cellular connection?

You can also look at this support document for troubleshooting iTunes Match. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4054

Thanks for your help Chris. I wasnt a problem with iMatch (i think) as even when i turned it off and only played music actually on my phone the problem still happened.

But, in exploring this, I went through a full process of disassociating icloud, deleting all music from the phone, and then staarting over. Its taking a bit of time to get music back on the phone but so far its all playing properly!!!! I would say the problem has been solved.

Glad you got it working. Sometimes syncing of information to the phone goes awry, and we have to do something to correct it.
