Q: ive no connection to telephone or text with my iphone 4s. ive changed sim and done reinstallationwhat else can i try?

please help, new iphone for xmas from e-bay and i cant get a signal. tried new sim, i am on vodafone, but no luck, so tried you tube, no luck. Apple told me to back up and reset, still no luck, please help. internet connection is good in house cos connected to live box but  no signal for texting or ringing etc

iPhone 4S, iOS 6.0.1, 16gb black

    Odds are it was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it and the hack did damage to the phone.

     

    Google "iPhone DFU mode". Put it in DFU mode and restore it. If it was hacked to unlock it, the best case scenario is that this will re-lock it to the original carrier. Only the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it.

     

    The smarter course of action would be to return it and get your money back, then use the money to purchase a phone you can use from a legitimate source.
