Syncing problems .

So, I just got an Ipod touch . 4th generation 16 gigs. I got it all set up on my computer and went to sync it. At the top of the screan it will say, syncing in progress steps 2 out 3 or which ever. By the end of stage 2 it will then say , waiting for changes to be made, and then stop syncing. I am unsure of what these changes are or what I can do to solve this issue?
