Q: How to put existing photos from iPhone to iPad threw iCloud

You can upload photos to Sugarsyn, Dropbox or Box and access photos from all your devices.

You can't do it via iCloud. New photos only. You can import the photos from Photo Stream on your computer and them sync the, to the iPad - and they will also be on the computer after you import them.

Turn on Settings > iCloud > Photo Stream.

With iOS 6, you can createa Shared Photo Stream and put whatever photos you want in it.

I would like to have them on iPad in case anything happens to my phone or vicversa

Ideally, you should put them onto a computer and make regular backups of the computer.

Anything can happen to your devices but you photos will be safely stored in the cloud.

Not with iCloud. They are only there for 30 days.

WIht the others (DropBox, SugarSync, etc.) I would not rely on them for your only permanent storage.
