Importing Playlists to itunes 11

I recently bought the new ipod touch 5, and when i updated to itunes 11 and synced my ipod, all of my apps and playlists were lost. I dont care about the apps too much, just the playlists, as i dont want to go through the trouble of recreating them all. Fortunatly i have all of my playlists still saved on my old ipod touch. I was wondering if there is any way to transfer my playlists from my old ipod touch to itunes 11. I've tried connecting the old ipod and then exporting the playlists from the ipod to my desktop and then dragging them into itunes, but it doesnt work. Any help would be appreciated.
