Macbook pro has a plain white screen upon startup, been this way for 2 weeks, any suggestions?

Which version of OS X are you running? If Lion or Mountain Lion, try booting into your Recovery partition - hold down the Command and R keys whilst booting. If you're using a previous version of OS X, the boot from your installation disc.

In Recovery mode (whether via Recovery partition or drom disc) use Disk Utility to verify and, if prompted, repair your internal drive.
