payment method declined

my payment method is coming as declined on my iphone 5 . Can't buy any apps. Any advice as to how to solve this problem?

This probably occurred since you purchased something from your new iPhone 5 which had not been used for purchases yet. When you do that Apple either sends a confirmation email, or asks for some more security questions, or does something else that they don't talk about. If they sent an email it often gets marked as spam.


Credit card fraud is rampant and Apple is an large target. Their account security methods are intentionally unpredictable.

Visa Electron cards are no longer considered credit cards. They are now debit cards. Debit cards are no longer accepted by the iTunes Store. Problem solved.


Thank the US government for their "consumer protection" banking regulations that resulted in this change being implemented wordwide.
