payment method declined
my payment method is coming as declined on my iphone 5 . Can't buy any apps. Any advice as to how to solve this problem?

there is no problem with my card. I checked about that! its getting declined on all my apple devices since I bought the iphone5 3 days back. Before that everything was fine!

All Products and Services > iTunes > iTunes Store > Purchases, Billing & Redemption > Unable to purchase from iTunes Store > Continue > Email.
thank you. Expecting a practical solution from them and not just a reply stating check your card.
This probably occurred since you purchased something from your new iPhone 5 which had not been used for purchases yet. When you do that Apple either sends a confirmation email, or asks for some more security questions, or does something else that they don't talk about. If they sent an email it often gets marked as spam.
Credit card fraud is rampant and Apple is an large target. Their account security methods are intentionally unpredictable.
i have same problem with my iph5 i try many card for purchase the app after i try visa card (use only electron) is working for me...try viza (electron only)
hmm. I did get the security questions which I replied too . Lets see what happens now!

Visa Electron cards are no longer considered credit cards. They are now debit cards. Debit cards are no longer accepted by the iTunes Store. Problem solved.
Thank the US government for their "consumer protection" banking regulations that resulted in this change being implemented wordwide.
ahhh okk! wasn't aware of that. Is it a recent change coz i had purchased some apps this year with the debit card!
Yes. Debit cards are being slowly phased out. It started over a year ago.

so bsaically i cant use the app store unless i have a credit card, i only have a debit
i only have a debit card.. so basically im being told that unless i have a credit card i might as well sell my iphone 5 as i will not be able to purchase ay apps or update old ones?? surely this cant be right?????

This is a joke. Iv had my 4s for a year and a bit now and iv never had a problem until recently me and my mum both have Visa cards hers works but if I enter my card details it won't work! Samsungs looking pretty good at the moment. First updating my phone broke the lock button. Now I can't get apps!
