I am having big problems with my second computer, since the arrival of iCloud. My first computer (iMac running OS 10.6.8) has Mobile Me icons for my 4 Email accounts, and they all work OK -- but my MacBook still has the .Mac icons on the settings and I am having many Email problems. Should the settings and passwords on the second computer be identical to those on the first?

Your MacBook must be running a pretty old Mac OS X. iCloud is only compatible with OS X 10.7.2 or later; however, you can set up Mail on all the computers. To set up the iCloud mail on the MacBook, see > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5330

Ideally, you should update your computers to the minimum version of OS X that iCloud supports - OS X 10.7.2 to avoid these setup issues.
Thanks Julian. I am running OS 10.5.8 on the MacBook. I have Mail on it -- that's worked OK in the past, before the disappearance of MobileMe. So that's likely to be the problem? With the MacBook, when I am out roaming, I also have problems logging in to Mail2Web -- and that used to be OK too. Presumably Apple wants me to chuck out my faithful MacBook and get a shiny new one?!!!
You can use iCloud mail on your MacBooks with the links provided by Julian and me, but you can't use other iCloud features unless you upgrade to Lion or Mountain Lion
Thank you -- but now I am a bit confused, since that link tells me that the instructions relate only to 10.6 or later versions of OS. Is it possible to upgrade the MacBook to 10.6.8, which is the version I have on the main computer? It has the 2 GHz Intel core 2 Duo processor....
You can upgrade the MacBook to Lion, if you want. You can use the same steps of the link to configure the iCloud mail on the MacBook
Ah -- thanks for that. Any thoughts on why I have problems in logging in to Mail2Web and accessing my mail when I am away from home with the MacBook? The Mail2Web people tell me that my settings are all OK, and they are mystified.........
