Side effects of water damage

I dropped my iPhone in the sink and I blow dried it but it still won't turn on, will it ever work again.... I'm nervous because I know water damage is not covered in the warranty...

iPhone 5, iOS 6

No way to know.

You should not try to trun it on or charge it until it has dried for a week or so.

Turning it on while it still has moisture in it will likely kill it.

Thank you, worse comes to worse and I have to replace it, will I have to buy a new iPhone for 800 some dollars or do you think the people at Apple have some kind of mercy on me? :P

You can get an out of warranty replacement from Apple for $229 in most countries.
