message not delivered after IOS 6 upgrade

In mid-December I upgraded my iPhone4 to IOS 6. Since then I have been unable to send SMS text messages. I receive messages with no problem. I have read of some problems with iMessage, but this is a different problem. I have never used iMessage. I tried sending regular text messages with iMessage enabled, disabled and reenabled and it made no difference. When I try to send a text message I get a red exclamation point and the notation "Not Delivered"

Anybody else having this problem? Is there any solution?

I called my carrier (AT&T) and the tech checked everything on my account and verified that nothing has changed and my text messages should be working. She thought it was an iPhone problem.

I had this problem once before. Its probably the netowrk you're connected to. Try contacting them

As I clearly stated in my original post, I called AT&T tech support and they insisted that nothing was wrong with my account. Remember, messages were working fine for me before I upgraded to IOS6. AT&T confirmed that nothing had changed in my account setup.

After some more experimentation I found that if I disable both iMessage and MMS, I can now send SMS messages. However, before the IOS upgrade, I had no problem sending MMS. I believe there is a bug.

You should try resetting your phone, you wont lose anything, hold the home and off button down until the apple symbol comes up. Also you could reset the network settings, in settings, general, reset, reset network settings, with doing that, you will have to reconnect your wifi, bluetooth items.. Also if there is a bad cell signal, sometimes they wont go through, or they show they dont but actually do. I would do the reset , then turn them back on and try again, worst case is you turn them back off, but could fix it.

I have power-cycled the phone. I have reset the network settings. And then power-cycled the phone again, and entered my network password again. There is nothing wrong with my cell phone signal. I have 4-5 bars. All of my incoming messages are working just fine. Every single outgoing MMS message fails. I have tried all of these things multiple times. MMS worked perfectly before I upgraded to IOS 6. Now it fails 100% of the time.

Is there any way to actually report the problem to Apple? Since the phone is not new, it is not under warranty. However, the problem clearly appeared immediately after upgrading to IOS 6.
