Disabling "shot detect" in FCP X

I'm afraid not.

Pardon my French but this is ********. I've still got iMovie HD on my drive and I KNOW that can do it. I guess it's back to when Apple wasn't always trying to make us upgrade something or buy something new for it's own sake.

To input a tape into the mac you could just have used Quicktime Player, already on your mac...

Maybe Final Cut Pro is not worth $300 to you, or maybe it is. That hugely depends on what you want or need it to do for you. And since there is a free 30-day trial, you could have checked it out before buying.

I can say that it is worth a lot more than that *for me*.

I think the point is that in a flagship product you should be able to turn off scene detection AS WE COULD IN IMOVIE HD 6 - 5 years ago.
