Did you resolve this yet? It took me 3 hours on the phone with support over 2 sessions, but they found the solution.
From the Finder menu:
Go/Go to Folder...
Select everything in folder and delete
Launch iTunes and plug in phone. It should work (that's what did it for us).
I tried this twice. Been receiving the same message (iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. You do not have permission.) I've restarted both my computer and phone but no differnece. When I tried to go to the gofolder I got a message saying tghis folder does not exist.
Any ideas. I really need to download videos of students soon and md phone HD is full.
