New apple id, same computer?

I have a laptop which is authorised to my ipod. I now have an Ipad, which I have created a new Apple id for so I can have different apps and a different library, but, when I connect my ipad to my computer, ITunes opens with my original library but tells me 'this computer is not authorised to play content from this ipad' - not sure what to do next?
