I received a £20 online gift card which I redeemed on the app store. I know that I haven't used it all but now when I go to buy an app it is asking me for bank details.
How can I check the balance of my gift card? I have tried viewing my apple id - tried going into redeem again and still can't find anything that references it.
The balance used to show in the iTunes app on a Mac next to your account name in the top bar when logged into your account. I've never used a gift card, so I don't know if it is still there in the most recent versions of iTunes app. But the credit is not enough to completely cover any purchase that you wish to make if the iTunes app is asking for bank card details.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. I found the balance and it's £17.00 and the app I want to buy is only £0.69 so it's a bit strange that it is asking me for my details.
If you changed any of your billing details after your last purchase, then you're asked to verify as a rule.
