How do you download rented movies from iTunes to your iPad?

I've rented the movie 'Dark Knight' onto iTunes on my PC and it has 29 days left but videos on my PCM always buffer so I want to watch it on my iPad but I do not know how to, every time I click 'move' on iTunes it try's to put it on then comes up with an error message. Please help as I only have 29 days to watch it and I haven't seen it before.

You also can turn on Automatic Transfers, in Settings>>Apple Store of your device. It makes your purchases download automatically in your other devices, so you don't need to sync your device with iTunes to do that.

No, it does not.

Automatic transfers makes content automatically transfer when syncing a device.

If you want content to automatically download to iTunes, do the following:

Edit > Preferences > Store.

Select Always check for available downloads and select the options for the content that you desire to be Automatically downloaded (Music, Apps, Podcasts).
