Will Motion work without Final Cut Pro X ?

Final Cut Pro X is a little over the top for me, but i would like to try Motion 5 if this works.

Motion 5 is way more complex than FCP X.

In the meanwhile i purchased it and its just what i wanted. It's indeed complex but i understand it.
