My iPod touch will not back-up properly

I recently got a new computer and i tried to back-up my iPod touch (up to date with the latest software). I was informed i had to authorize my computer, which i did, but yet all my music is still not on my computer.. Is there something blindingly obvious i haven't done or is it more complicated than that?

iPod touch, iOS 5.1.1

From your OLD computer...


Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..
