Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
Open Terminal and type:
drutil eject
If it doesn't help, press the mouse or trackpad while your Mac is starting
Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
left mouse button until the disc ejects.
2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
/usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:
Boot the computer into Single-user Mode. At the prompt enter the same command as used above. To restart the computer enter "reboot" at the prompt without quotes.
Have you tried the eject button on the keyboard just above the backspace key.
Or if it shows on the desktop right mouse click and Eject
Thanks. Multiple attempts did it. It must be a stubborn and slow learner. Jeez! It wouldn't comply at all this a.m.
Happy New Year!
Thanks a lot. It took a few tries, but lift off. I'll have to fiddle with it more later.
Happy New Year!
You are welcome
Thanks!
Now, if I had only put in the time to learn how to do everything sooner I'd know how to resize a ginormous photo that's in the body of an email and impossible to print out... for early tomorrow a.m.
I always meant to spend quality time figuring things out. Another New Year's resolution too late!
