No iPod functionality with iPhone 5 and 2011 G37

Having a problem with my new iPhone 5 and my 2011 Infiniti G37.

The bluetooth seems to be working fine but my iPod integration doesn't.

I'm using the USB to Lightning cable that came with the phone.

When I plug it in I get a "There is no song" error message on the Nav screen instead of getting all of the iPod functionality I've had with my iPhone 4 since I've got the car.

Any ideas? I've searched around and mostly found issues with bluetooth, not the iPod integration.

I'm running iOS 6.0.2

I don't understand why this ever worked before, but I'm pretty sure the iPhone never advertised music as coming out of the 30 pin port (in older models) or lightning port.

Do you have a way to receive the 3.5mm output from iPhone as input to your car's system? That would surely work.

All previous iPhones showed up in the Nav screen with all the iPod functionality - playlists, artists, songs, etc.

I've had multiple iPhones myself and used friends' and family's that have all worked with the car in the 2 years I've owned it.

Only since I got the iPhone 5 does it not seem to work anymore.

Turns out it was because iTunes Match was turned on on the phone so although it was set to Show All Songs none had actually been synced physically to the phone.

On the phone itself it shows all available songs and playlists from the Cloud but the Infiniti Nav doesn't understand that information.
