Q: Mac Pages save to iCloud hangs on "Waiting"

I have installed Pages 4.3 on a MacPro(5,1) running OS X 10.8.2. I have configured the machine with my Apple ID for iCloud access. My bookmarks and notes are successfully syncing via iCloud.

However, when I attempt to save a new Pages document to iCloud I see a dotted-line icon of a cloud beside the filename with the text "Waiting." This text does not go away or resolve, and my files are not accessible through iCloud (neither through other devices or via the iCloud.com website).

How can I troubleshoot my Mac's inability to upload files to iCloud? All tips appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hi MFDH

    iCloud status is fine

    http://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

I just did a test with a new Mac Numbers sheet, saved to to the icloud icon, and it went zinging into iCloud.

So it's not an iCloud issue per se...  just fiddling with your settings or maybe a restart.

    Cheers

    Hi MFDH,

There are some actual issues with iCloud itself, irrespective of whether the system is up and running.

On the Mac, there is a way to debug some of what is happening. You need to find the "ubiquity.log", which is written to by the ubiquity daemon, UBD. This will record any errors or miscommunication with the iCloud Servers. I believe "ubiquity.log" is stored under:

    ~/Library/Logs/Ubiquity/[username]/ubiquity.log

Hope this helps you start to figure out at least that iCloud itself is probably to blame.
