Q: How can I gift a book?

How can I gift a book.  I can gift an app but not a book.  Why?

    Though it seems incredibly stupid (especially as Christmas approaches) gifting books is not a supported function at the iTunes Store.  I've whined for a long time about this one.  No obvious reason why they don't/can't support it; same copyright issues as with music, TV and movies.  I guess we don't have all that many readers at Apple these days
