A calendar alert notification is frozen on my startup screen.
I have restarted, reset, and deleted the calendar event.
It's still there, three hrs later.
iMac, OS X Mountain Lion, AirPort Extreme Base Station
when you say "reset", how did you do it?
Perform a Reset...
Reset ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
That's the way I did the reset.
I am not new to apple, just stumped on this one.

Try to delete the event, then create it again.
If the problem persists, go to Settings>>Mail, Contact, Calendars and change your calendar settings.
My phone calendar settings:
New invitation: Yes
Timezone: turned on
Sync: all events
Alerts >> Birthdates: in the date at 9:00am
Events: none
Events(whole day): none
Calendar Default: From my PC Calendar
