Hey do screen protectors affect the retina display?
I have the new ipad with retina display and have a screen protector. Will the screen protector affect the quality of the retina display at all?

I think that there has to be some degradation of the retina display when you use any screen protector. That did not prevent me from using one on my iPad 3 with the retina display - because I do use one.
I prefer having the protection for my screen to the very slight loss of quality (IMO) that the screen protector may cause.
I have one on my new Ipad 4 and my Iphone 5 and I should say yes, you can see really small dots that obstruct a bit the incredible resolution of the screens. But is not too bad, though.
I've only put the screen protector on today, but would the screen protector affect the retina display in a long term or short term?
It won't affect the retina display, it just protect the screen from scratches.
If you are asking if the sccreen protector will damage the screen and therefore reduce the quality of the display - no - it will not damage the screen
If the screen protector gets dirty, clean it like you would clean the screen itself with a damp soft microfiber cloth.
Ok thank you for the replies :)
Hey yes with the iPad retina display, screen protectors will tinge the screen yellow after some time, so I went without, its the reaction with the glue from the screen protector with the screen.
