I'm having problems syncing my recent photos from iPhone to iPad 2

You can't sync photos from devices, they must be imported to your computer. You can sync "TO" davices but not from them. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083?viewlocale=en_US

Hi Friend,
to share pictures with other idevices the pictures must be automatically copied to Share pictures folder. This sharing will happen when the idevice you took the picture is connected to wifi.
