My digital movie stops downloading at the 1.17 GB point - MacBook Air

I got a movie to start downloading and it won't go beyond 1.17 GB for a 5.17 GB movie. What is the issue? Memory on my MacBook Air is 4GB. Do I have a memory issue, or a carrier ISP issue? Two times the download has stopped at 1.17 GB exactly, so what could it be?
