i've changed my apple id.

Hi everyone

I have apple id zzz@gmail.com and i have synced it with an icloud.

After that I have changed it so i made my id assosiated with yyy@yahoo.com

so i have replaced the old mail on new. so there is no more such id as zzz@gmail.com

then i registered i mean i signed up one more time i mean i have created one more apple id with the mail that i've used to use before which is zzz@gmail.com and i never logged in or used icloud with that mail

question: so my synced data is associaated with yyy@yahoo.com?

or still if i log into icloud with zzz@gmil.com i can see my old files? or now it is like new clear id and nothing on icloud?

so my problem is a little bit complicated

i have always used my zzz@gmail.com to sync with an icloud. problem that this is my dads" email and id and he knows the password and can retrieve it if i change.

i dont want my data be synced on his iphone if and when he logins into zzz@gmail.com icloud.

so have associated this account with another email-- yyy@yahoo.com

so what i did in his account options is changed the id name to yyy@yahoo.com (and the password )

that doesn not affect my icloud data, right? although the id is assosiated with another name but this is still old id and my data is there? so only if my dad logs into yyy@yahoo com he can see previous synced data?

i thought that the problem is solved. i tried to check if zzz@gmail.com is loggin in too but is was giving an error that there is no such id. great. that is what i wanted. BUT! I thought what if i register on apple site that old zzz@gmail.com one more time?? Yes, it didnt say that that id is taken, it registered zzz@gmail.com!!!

QUESTION: so if my dad logins into zzz@gmail.com? the re-registered id? (he doesnt know that i have reregistered it ) it won't be assosiated with my icloud data, right? it will be like a new apple id for him? despite that email used to be assosiated with mine? what about my old previously syced data?can he get it to his iphone? or can he open up his iphone, sign in zzz@gmail.com and see the old files before i changed or now it is different id zzz@gmail.com despite that this is an email i used to use for my old accout and my old account is now assosiated with differentt mail?

tnank you, but not exactly what i mean...

i meant that there was an account zzz@gmail.com and i have changed the name to yyy@yahoo.com (i have assosiated with another mail the same apple account )

so i understand that he cant sync anymore and has only what he has on his device

but i have created NEW account for him zzz@gmail.com (problem is because this is same mail that was assosiated with mine--thats my point ) and same password that he used to have so he cant feel that it is different account.

but i am worried not because he cant sync anymore-- i know because on my device is yyy@yahoo.com and on his zzz@gmail.com. but i am worried what if he can view somehow my old files on the icloud.com or somhow get them to his iphone or somehow this email will be still assosiated with my account... What i would like to understand is the re-registered account for him considers as a completely new different not assosiated with me and my files on icloud and my apple id? (despite that email -- same email i was using before and changed it in my account settings and registered as a new id for him)

because the email...zzz@gmail.com was once assosiated with my icloud account, after that i have assosiated my apple id and icloud with another mail and after that i registered zzz@gmail.com at apple site one more time..

so now his zzz@gmail.com cant be assosiated with my icloud data or give him a login and somehow see my old files from the times this zzz was assosiated with me?

so now as i understand zzz cant access my icloud data and he has his own separated icloud which is clean from the old files?

when i assosiate my apple id with another mail iclouds knows this is me and my files, right? and the account is same and cant be accessed with old mail? even if i reregister the old mail it considers as another completely different account?

Dec 31, 2012 8:31 AM in response to Winston Churchill

and what he can see if he access his account?logs into icloud with his zzz? nothing from my old data? because all the data that was synced before is completely different account now?

so email address is not an account, it is only assosiated with icloud account, right? account stays the same and data is the same and my files are there only assosiated email is different?

and now when i have registered him one more time with his old zzz@gmail and my data on icloud is accessed by yyy@yahoo its like he is a new completly different id with its own data on it, right?

and please please answer this and you saved my life

so what he has on his device synced before is ok

but when he wants to sync with the server and get my files on his iphone he cant, right?

An iCloud email address will always stay nwith the account, it cannot be changed (@iCloud etc), non iCloud addresses can be added and removed, the account does not follow those addresses, yes they are only associated with an account, even if they are used as a primary address.

Yes

WOW HUGE THANK YOU!

now i understand why i could re-register that old email one more time... because i unlinked it from my account and it was not linked to any account so it gave me to register new account with the mail i used to use and it did not say that this is taken. so now i understand that those are two different accounts with its own data now.

WAIT!!!!!!

you wrote @icloud.com

if he still has this password can he still access my account and my data on www.icloud.com or enough that i assosiated it with another primarty email and changed my apple id? I didnt understand that

if he has @icloud com for email or notes?

To login to icloud is only possible with apple id which is primary account mail assosiated with that id? what about if he created before @me.com or @icloud.com???????

sorry for being so annoying i just want to be sure, i am afraid to be misunderstood because of my english :-)

last thing: when we say "sync", we mean sync with the www.icloud.com when we connect with specific apple id?

if i delete all data from www.icloud.com and delete my account from my iphone, that means that my iphone will not sync with www,icloud.com anymore?

and last very important for me stuff:

to login to icloud from the iphone and start to sync we need only apple id and not @icloud.com ?

i've changed my apple id.
