Rented a movie on my iMac in iTunes, could see movie in library but not on my Apple TV. Home sharing is on

Hello. I have an iMac, iTunes account and apple TV. I rented a movie on iTunes but was not able to find it when I logged onto Apple TV. I have Home Sharing turned on & could see all else such as all of my music and photos in iTunes, but the movie did not appear on Apple TV as an option.

I also have a Netflix account through iTunes but cannot see how to connect this to my Apple TV account

What steps have I missed?
