That all depends on whether you have Firewire 400, Firewire 800 or both types of port on the G4 and drive.
Depending on the answer you will need a 400/400, 800/800 or 800/400 cable.

If the drive doesn't have Firewire you will have to use USB (and may encounter power issues if you don't use a mains supply to the drive or a USB Y cable).
