itunes not working on 10.4.11?

I cannot sign in to my iTunes account on my iMac. Its not a password or id issue, I literally cannot get the account / sign in button to activate in itunes on my imac. Any ideas? is the software wrong and if it is, what and where do I get what is compatible?

Hi Pamela,

When is the last time you tried it from 10.4.11?

If this is the itunes Store, I think it requires at least 10.6.8, maybe 10.7.x, & newer iTunes & Quicktime.

So we know more about it...

At the Apple Icon at top left>About this Mac, then click on More Info, then click on Hardware> and report this upto but not including the Serial#...

Well...

Maximum MacOS: X 10.6.8*

You'd also want to upgrade the RAM to the Max 2 GB, which is still too little RAM in my opinion...

General requirements

* Mac computer with an Intel processor

* 5GB of available disk space (I say 30GB at least)

* DVD drive for installation

* Some features require a compatible Internet service provider; fees may apply.

* Some features require Apple’s MobileMe service; fees and terms apply.

sorry, I am not a computer person... Could I get a very simple answer to 'should I just use itunes on my old laptop or is there a way to make it work on this computer today without buying anything?' I'm not interested in purchasing anything else, just wondering if I can get it to work on this computer or if I am wasting time. I use home computer to surf net and do taxes so if its going to get complicated I will just live with itunes on my old laptop when I need it. I have learned to admit incompetence with updating anything computer... thanks for the assistance !
