Can't purchase Mountain Lion. Upgraded my memory and OSX. I have a black Macbook (2009) will it work?
MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)
In the App Store I get a little drop down screen that says it is not compatible with my computer. I verified the operating system I have (10.6.8) and I think I have all the hardware required. It ***** that it can't tell you why or what part is not compatible.
The Black Macbook was for Sale between 2006 and 2008.

My MacBook is a 4,1...it would have been nice to have that listed in the minimum requirements instead of the years (where does one find the year?and who remembers exactly when they got it?). I have some other info....is it due to a "32 bit" "64 bit" thing? Thanks for your help.
Your MacBook is a late 2008 according to the application Mactracker, but not aluminum.
According to Apple, it could be either an early or late 2008 Macbook, but it definitely isn't Aluminum: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1635
