I am about to buy an apple tv, however my HDMI input only supports HDCP and HDMI V. 1.2
Does the latest apple tv require a higher level of HDCP to play protected content, or will my 1.2 level input support it ok?
Don't worry too much about HDMI version numbers (1.2 is fine), just make sure your cable is high speed.
Apple stuff is a bit random. I have two apple tv's. one works perfectly on both tv's the other gives a hdcp error. Same cables and same settings. Apple no longer knows how to make good stuff. They lost their quality control.
Actually not quite the same. The one that works has 5.2 and the one that doesn't 5.2.1
Keep well away from the new update.
