But how do I get this into iTunes so that I can watch it on my iPad?

I understand the subtle point about rights et al, but it was bought for my viewing, why can I not select which medium through which I view it (on my own in a purposefully darkened room) 🙂

Because the law does not allow this.

This is clear in the articles I linked for you.

The movie/TV industry has fought hard for these laws.
