Gift Card Store Credit???

Not sure where to post this but I just wanted to know why I can`t use a giftcard / store credit online??? Or at least that`s wgat I was told. Can I? And if not why not?

I`m stuck with a store credit because they don`t have the iMac with 256RAM and the apple store here in Canada, Toronto is clueless when they`ll be getting one.

They don`t want to order one for me and I can`t use it online. Pretty useless.

In the States you can certainly use a gift card on the online Apple Store and there should be no reason that you can't in Canada, unless the rules are different, of course.

Put the items in your basket and check out. When you get to the payment method page, select gift card and you are off.

If it doesn't come up online, call a sales rep on the phone and see if they can put it through manually.

BTW, the iMac hasn't come with 256MB RAM since the first gens, and you really need at least 512MB anyway, so don't pine away for one that is so RAM starved.
