Try to start this app and it crashes on iPad. Works well on iPhone, both are using iOs 6. Any ideas?

Try this first.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

If that fails to make any difference ...... This is copied from Apple's support site - troubleshooting applications purchased from the App Store....

4. Restart the application

If the issue affects only a single app, try closing just that app:

  1. Press the Home button to return to the Home screen.
  2. Double-tap the Home button to display recent apps.
  3. Tap and hold the affected app until the red minus appears.
  4. Tap the red minus to quit the app.
  5. Press the Home button, then restart the app.

5. Restart your device

Hold the Sleep/Wake button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the Sleep/Wake button to turn it back on.

6. Reinstall the affected application

Remove the application from your device and reinstall it.

  1. Touch and hold any application icon on the Home Screen until the icons start to wiggle.
  2. Tap the "x" in the corner of the application you want to delete.
  3. Tap Delete to remove the application and all of its data from your device.
  4. Press the Home button.
  5. Go to the App Store.
  6. Search for the application and then download it again.

Note: If it is a paid app, ensure you are using the iTunes account you purchased the app with originally. If it is not, you will be charged for the app again. For more information regarding downloading previously purchased items, see this article.

The fact that it is a free really should have no bearing on anything at all. At least I don't think that should matter. Was this app working at all on your iPad previously? Or have you never played it on the iPad at all?

You could try a couple of more things that might help. Close all apps in the recents tray, restart the iPad and then launch the game again.

Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.

Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.

You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. This ends up being a little more work for you because you will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered.

If this is the correct app - Candy Crush Saga - there is an email address at the bottom of this site where you can contact the devoler and see if they can help.

I have had the same issue. I found if you put the iPad in airplane mode and restart, it works 80% of the time. It will crash each time you win a level but if you just go back and reopen l, the next level will work. No freebis since you are not connected but at least I works most of the time. It was not working at all on my iPad mini before. Almost as if there are not enough resources for both.
