Are there routers not compatible with iPad wifi?

For about a week now, my iPad wouldn't load my facebook newsfeed, my apps such as Feedly can't connect to my google reader account, my twitter app can't send tweets with attached pictures, among other problems. I thought they were all due to bugs specific to the apps or maybe in iOS 6. But I went to a friend's house and I connected to their wifi network. All my apps worked properly. I was able to load the newsfeed (very fast). I was able to link feedly to google reader, etc. So I concluded that the problem lies with my wifi connection at home? Has anyone experienced the same problem before? Does anyone know how to fix this?

I am using an iPad 4, iOS 6.0.1. My router is a Belkin N150. I hope there will be an immediate response to my question. Thanks guys!

I have seen that multiple times on time warners/road runners/ comcast modems. Usually not the routers are the problem in that case, but there is a chance of that as well. As long as you understand that your router can be checked on your friends network, you ll be able to pinpoint that to router or modem. Next step would be to call their respective tech support, see what s up. No fun at all.

Could be settings of the router or the router may need a firmware update.

Some things to try first:

1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

3. Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

• Launch Settings app

• Tap on Wi-Fi

• Tap on the blue arrow of the Wi-Fi network that you connect to from the list

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I have tried the suggested fixes but the problem remains. I would just like to clarify that I can connect to the network perfectly well. I am able to surf the net in Safari, download in app stores, send and receive mails. It's just that there are particular functions which I cannot use properly, such as the ones mentioned in my original post. I did not experience those specific problems when I was I connected to my friend's wifi network.

I have checked my router settings but it says that there's no available firmware update yet.
