My ipod touch battery in the top right says it is full when the large icon in the middle of the screen says it is not full?

- Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.

Even allowing for the inaccuracy of the battery indicator, there's no way that a battery at 20% charge will be fully charged in "a few minutes". Wait.

Are you sure it shows as full? With the iPod plugged into the charging source do you see a white battery with a black plug on it?

I found this screenshot I took on my ipod Touch a while ago:

Notice the "battery full" icon in the top right. However, the big one in the middle of the screen shows the actual state of the battery. This picture should not - in theory - be possible. So all is not what it seems!

Although there have been some iOS updates since this screenshot was taken, it does establish that discrepancies can occur. (After a short while, the top right icon will change, and indicate correctly.)

But as I said earlier, there's no way at all that a battery at 20% charge will be full after just a few minutes.

My suggestion is to get the app Philips Batterysense. It is an accurate battery meter that could help this problem!
