Flickering Purple Stripes with iPhone 5 Camera

i am having exactly the same problem, my iphone5 is just a month old only, sometimes I'm getting a flickering purple stripes, and sometimes a solid purple in almost half of the screen, yes it appears in bright light subjects. can anyone help? please see image below.

Yup, me too ... a big swath of purple takes over some portion of the screen.

Any progress? I have the same problem but have been told to do a full reset of my phone.

some say this glitch is more of a hardware problem so upgrading to a higher iOS or resetting it won't do any good, i brought my iphone5 back to my service provider where i acquired my unit, they will replace it with a new one but it will take 3-4 weeks ;(

same problem.the guy sold me iphone5 said that maybe its a software problem.so he suggested that i wait for the higher ios,if it doesn't work.he will send it to the service...

Is there any apple official can give me some suggestions????

i did... but it did not work... they also said i do update, i clicked all the updates available, but still i have the problem

I'm thinking that this might be a software issue since it started with the latest iOS upate which is 6.1.3. Let's hope that the new OS update will correct this issue. I just don't like the idea sending my phone for repairs since it will take a month+ to finish.

Did the repair helped solve the camera issue?

This is the image I got when getting a shot... 😢 and its Camera app became erratic and then I need to turn it off. By the way, it started after updating to the latest iOS version 6.1.3. This concern started after March 19, 2013... I would assume that this is a software issue...

Another update guys,

I just talked to Apple Chat Support and the issue was resolved....

The tech support rep asked my phones Serial Number and ask me to do this. This from chat transcript sent to my e-mail and it does resolve my issue... The tech support rep mentioned to contact back if the issue persist...

Maybe this is the start of the troubleshooting for this issue... I just forgot the power button/home button reset routine... 🙂 Try it guys!

Please reset iOS Device using the following instructions:

1. Hold power button (top right) & home button (below screen) at the same time

2. Keep holding these 2 buttons until a silver Apple logo appears

3. Once you see an Apple logo, release buttons (allow a few minutes for device to restart)

hi Erich Mercado, if this has worked for you, you're one of the lucky few, but i doubt it, the issue will re-appear in a few couple of days for i've done this a million times already.

I would recommend you go for Apple Chat support available anytime of the day... They might recommend something for you.
