I have the most recent ipod and itunes update but it erased EVERYTHING off my ipod and didn't restore it. I lost over 3000 songs that now will not sync. It's backed up on itunes but now it's only syncing 200 of the 3000 songs. Majority of my music was imported from cds to the library and I don't have the cds anymore but, like i said, its on itunes. They play fine on itunes but how do I get it on to my ipod now??

I have this exact problem. I hope someone comes up with a solution to our problem.
same here i downloaded itunes 11 last night and this morning i get an "error -42408" so altough my itunes recognizes my ipod, it simply wont sync and asks me to eject manually. I tried restoring and it still wont sync.

the songs do not play on itunes either
If the songs do not play in iTunes then they will not sync. Delete the songs from iTunes and redownload/reimport the songs into iTunes.
