When I try to update to the newest version of itunes it won't let me. Why?

What happens when you try to update iTunes?
What computer OS and version do you have? If a Mac, to go to iTunes version 10.7 or later you need OSX 10.6.8 or later.
I have a Windows XP computer.
It says ' The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable'
It also says 'the path cannot be found. Verify you have access to this folder and try again or try to find the folder 'iTunes.msi' from which you can install the product iTunes' I have found this folder and entered it in but the same thing comes up.
