IPod Classic 30GB not recognised since Itunes 11 update

I have a 30GB IPod Classic. Since updating to Itunes11, it is not being recognised by my windows 7 laptop. No device appears in Itunes and nor does it appear in my computer. My Iphone 4S and my daughters Ipod touch 32GB both work fine.

I have tried troubleshooting options on Apple Support to no avail.

I hope the new update has not made my trusty old classic redundant. It is perfect for running, taking on holiday when I dont want to take my newer more expensive Apple devices.

Help please!
