My guess would be.....January. This is a user to user forum, ther's no possible way that none here could help with that. I would recommend that you contact The Apple Store though and see if that can offer any further information.
And sorry for being a smart aleck! Happy New Year!
thanks. will try to phone them an dsee what they have to say. cheers
I ordered my 27" iMac on Dec 6th and it's scheduled for delivery here on Thursday, January 3rd.
ok thanks i ordered mine on the 10th i think but still saying january. are you in the UK?
Sorry, Liam....I'm in the U.S. Actually, it arrived today, a day earlier than projected.
ok hopefully would arrive within a week. thanks
i have just phoned apple and they say my mac is still in the factory in shanghai China. how long would it take to ship from china to the Uk iff it were to be shipped via boat? and is there a chance it would be shipped by air?
Any Apple products that I have purchased that were shipped from Shanghai have always arrived 3 or 4 days after leaving China. I'm in Europe, so I'm guessing they use planes rather than ships 😉.
I've found that the email notifications you get when it's despatched very useful and with the tracking number you will be given it's easy to follow your package on it's journey to your front door.
You should also be able to click on your order number indicated on the confirmation email of your order that will also indicate when the shipment is being prepared for despatch.
thanks coz i was getting worried that it would be put on a ship an i wouldnt recieve it till february
on the apple site it say iff you order now it will be dispatched in 3-4 weeks but my order still says january bearing in mind i ordered it on 10th december. does this mean i will not be recieving mine till 3-4 weeks
Probably.
The point is, was that statement on the Apple site on the day you ordered it? If so, you have grounds to cancel if it doesn't arrive on time ... but no more.
You don't say what you ordered. but there were several posts pointing out a delay with the 27" model due to production problems. I appreciate how disappointing it can be, especially if it is a present, but the alternative is what?
I'll cross my fingers for you. 😀
yh the statement when i ordered it was january but now on the apple site it says 3-4 weeks for 27inch but my order status still says january
Liam,
No-one here can confirm anything, one way or the other. All you can expect is that someone (me in this case) will post with a reasoned opinion. I recently saw a post (can't remember where it was now) that gave an unsubstantiated list of shipments and another that quoted deliveries via Alaska!
It will be with you soon, be assured of that, but I ain't saying when I think 'soon' will be. 😕
Apple's online store was updated on Monday to reflect shipping times of between three and four weeks for new orders of its redesigned 27-inch iMacs. Previously, orders were advertised to ship "in January" — a change that was made last month to let customers know their orders would not ship before Christmas.
With three-and-a-half weeks left in the month of January, the change in estimated shipping times may not represent an outright delay, but the continued wait is yet another sign that Apple is unable to produce enough iMac units to meet customer demand.
Apple Chief Executive Tim Cook signaled in October that his company would face a "significant shortage" of iMacs in the December quarter. And analyst Ming-chi Kuo of KGI Securities said in August that the new screen lamination process used in building the new iMacs is particularly difficult with the larger 27-inch model.
Last week, Apple began offering its new hybrid Fusion Drive on entry-level 21.5-inch iMac orders. Previously, that option was limited to the 27-inch model and high-end versions of the 21.5-inch model.
thanks but shouldnt i recieve mine before 3-4 weeks as i ordered it on the 10th december as i woud think you would get it in 3-4 weeks iff you order now
when will my mac be dispatched
