How do I remove the pins?
There seem to be clusters of pins which I did not put there, at least not on purpose! How do I get rid of them all?

Did you search for anything? Are the Pins red?
If the Pins are red, they are usually search results. You can clear them off by clearing the search. In the search box, tap on the black circle with the 3 lines in it, and then tap on the clear button to remove all search results from the map.
